The candid comments by the British Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Bob Dewar on the unjust
situation in the Niger Delta region when he visited Nigeria's Misinformation
Minister has flicked on a switch of hope for an early release of the British
hostage, Mathew Maguire.

The envoy noted to our satisfaction the injustice and criminality by successive and
the current government for which we are fighting to change.

Special Envoy Matthew Maguire returns home within 24 Hrs

Special Envoy and Advocate for Change, Mr Matthew Maguire will be leaving the
Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) to reunite with his family
within the next 24 hours.

We want to dispel any impression that he is being kept back to serve as a human
shield with the approach of Hurricane Piper Alpha.

Matthew's fate will continue to be tied to that of Henry Okah in the spirit.
