The recently renewed amnesty offer by the Nigerian government has been hereby
rejected by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) because it
is ambiguous, dictatorial, and has not been tested in a test tube.

MEND will only consider an amnesty that is well defined, has the input of the
fighters such as a framework to negotiate root issues such as fiscal federalism and
the involvement of international mediators. Last but not the least, experiment with
Henry Okah for the rest of us to believe that it works.
