Piper Alpha blasts Shell Forcados off shore Platform

The sincerity of the government of Nigeria came into question again on Friday, June
26, 2009 after the Interior Minister, General Godwin Abbe (rtd) informed the nation
that the release of a sick Henry Okah would now depend on consultations with the
dictators and despots ruling Angola and Equatorial Guinea.

The minister also lied when he said Okah traveled to Equatorial Guinea. The fact is
that Mr Henry Okah has never set foot in that country; not even as an airport
transit passenger.

In the case of Angola, the authorities in that country had severally wanted to

Niger Delta Unrest

A traditional ruler from the oil bearing Egbema kingdom in the Niger Delta, HRM
Isaac Thikan, the Agadagba of Egbema and a staunch critic of the military excesses
in the region was forcibly abducted on June 24, 2009 by the JTF and taken to their
headquarters in Effurun, Warri where we are hearing he may have been killed.

If confirmed to be true, the extra-judicial killing of a royal father after the
destruction of the palace of the Gbaramatu monarch will be the last straw and will
certainly have dire consequences.

Chemical Tanker Crew Seized

For disregarding our warning to oil, gas and chemical tankers to keep away from the
Niger Delta waters, six crew members from the chemical tanker, Siehem Peace were
seized about 20 nautical miles from Escravos on Sunday, July 5, 2009 by the
Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and will be held until
further notice.

Their arrest is meant to serve as a warning to others that there are root issues
that have to be resolved with the Nigerian government before normalcy can resume
such as the return of displaced civilians to their ancestral home, compensation for

Hurricane Moses

" I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you
go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely."

Jehovah (Exodus 11:1)

Showing no signs of abating, Hurricane Piper Alpha which upgraded to Hurricane
Moses lashed out at the Shell Well Head 20, located at Cawthorn Channel 1 today,

Chevron Strategic Manifold Attacked

The strategic Okan manifold which controls about 80 percent of Chevron Nigeria
Limited off shore crude oil to its BOP Crude Loading Platform was blown up at about
2045 Hrs on Sunday, June 5, 2009 by Hurricane Moses in Delta state.

As long as the Nigerian government and military JTF has chosen to carry out
kidnappings and arson against innocent communities and individuals, Moses will fight
for them.

We are demanding that the abducted monarch who is still being held illegally by the
JTF be released immediately or charged to a competent court of law.

IYC Claim

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) categorically denies any
interaction with Dr. Chris Ekiyor, president of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) over
the issue of the on-going attacks or government amnesty offer.

We are aware that there are many opportunist groups and individuals that take
advantage of situations such as this to make themselves relevant and line their
pockets by acting as middle men.

MEND has outlined its strategy as far as Hurricane Moses is concerned and when we
choose to have a team speak on our behalf, we will make it public.

Henry Okah

The recent appointment of Mr. Timi Alaibe as the Special Adviser to the President
on Niger Delta Affairs by the Nigerian government is a humble and welcome
development that is in line with the two pronged approach of our current campaign
codenamed Hurricane Moses.

With this channel of communication finally opened, MEND will put together it's Aaron
team of frank negotiators to pass our demands and expectations to the President
through Mr. Alaibe, a man we respect and can work with.

MEND does not believe the current amnesty offer is directed at freedom fighters

Atlas Cove Lagos Attacked

"No country is going to create wealth if its leaders exploit the economy to enrich
themselves...No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20
percent off the top..No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law
gives way to the rule of brutality and bribery... That is not democracy, that is
tyranny, even if occasionally you sprinkle an election in there.. and now is the
time for that style of governance to end."
